Admin Post: Check-in #13!

Two more weeks until the draft bangs have to be in the AO3 collection! Just FYI, the works might not appear in the collection right away, there have been some bugs. I've made the collection unmoderated for the moment (since it's unrevealed), so you should be able to see your works by logging in, clicking on the "Works" link on the left hand links bar, and then hitting the "Works in Collections" button on the right hand side. Contact a Mod if there are any issues.

Please respond to the top-level comments, even if you don't have any progress yet, just so we know you're here. Jump in with cheerleading anywhere you like, even if you're not technically on the team! And if you decide you *do* want to be on the team, go ahead an put up a comment at the sign-up post.

Please - especially if you're not on Dreamwidth much - sign up for reminder emails when these posts go up (click that link, or click the little bell icon at the bottom of the post). You can choose to be emailed about any post to the comm, those tagged with 2014 big bang, or just those tagged with 2014 big bang: check-in.

Please reply to everything you're signed up for. If you've got a bang and two complements, please post something on each thread so your teammates can track your progress and cheer you on! If you only comment on one thread, that's the only one that will be checked off.

Last week's check-in we were missing charybdis (three weeks in a row - anyone know them and can send a gentle prod? I will follow up by PM again), sperrywink, and azurian_defiant.

Last week I finished chapter 6, 7 and 8 so I started on chapter 9 today. I've gone past 55 000 words and I'm fairly certain that I'm more than halfway through the story at this point and estimate there to be twelve to fourteen chapters in total. So right now I'm just going to keep writing until I'm done.

I'll be posting the first three chapters - approximately 20 000 words - when the bang goes live and then the rest in the weeks that follow.

complements finished, I just need to get photos done and figure out how to get them posted on AO3 (never posted photos before, only fics!)

And, just a heads up, I'll be AWOL between 2-9 August, family holiday, so I won't be able to respond to check-ins.

Hi there. I'm still working through the Minor Arcana. Have done a few face cards and one ace. Some of my time and energy has had to go into overall suit design, and thinking more about the card meanings as my Coins suit's fairly dark, featuring the bad guys. So there's quite a bit of writing as well at the moment. Then the website that makes physical decks wiped all my uploaded images so that took a tech query for them to restore them - it's all go! Anyway, the Major Arcana are all done and available for the team, so it won't matter that I'm still finishing the rest of the cards even after the 4th. Onwards!

This Bang has been an exercise in persistence and getting out of my own way. The original plot I had actually started writing stalled. It was like banging my head against a wall trying to write it. At one point I wanted to cry because nothing was coming to me. This past week we worked on trying to get it going again and in the end brainstormed into a whole new fic. *headdesk*

It's still B5 and Losers but it's now a fusion than a true crossover. I've only been writing it for two days and already have almost 2000 words down, 1200 of which was just today alone. So at this pace, and considering they're actually talking to me, I'll be able to finish in time for the big reveal. Hopefully I'll have a completed first draft in two weeks or at least very close to one.

Also, Clay now has a wig. I committed to getting this done in one fairly crazy afternoon on Monday.
It's *cough* a rather exuberant wig, though not *quite* as over the top as the locks for Princess Purple Agapanthus was. I'm going to see if I can get my sister to style it (calm it down!) for me, as she has the magic touch and is Official Speaker to Curly Wigs. And yes, I know his beard doesn't match, he's cosplaying in a dark wig.

Here! Added a couple hundred more words with my same method of "no anime until words happen." Who knew all I needed was for tv shows to kick my ass into gear? (I mean, admittedly, it's a pretty low gear, but it's still movement.)
