Please - especially if you're not on Dreamwidth much - sign up for reminder emails when these posts go up (click that link, or click the little bell icon at the bottom of the post). You can choose to be emailed about any post to the comm, those tagged with 2014 big bang, or just those tagged with 2014 big bang: check-in.

Please reply to everything you're signed up for. If you've got a bang and two complements, please post something on each thread so your teammates can track your progress and cheer you on! If you only comment on one thread, that's the only one that will be checked off.

Last week's check-in we were missing amethystina (whom I've contacted), spurious_sanity (whom we know had RL things going on), and charybdis and mific (both of whom I assume also had a pile of RL things going on). I'll ping them if they miss check-in this week too, or if someone on their team can nudge them without making them feel guilty, that'd be awesome, too.

Here! I'm writing a lot less than I would like but I should be able to get my flow back as soon as I stop getting distracted by other projects (I have too many time consuming hobbies) and real life events.

I'm working on chapter 5 anyway and will pass 30 000 words in total real soon.

I did look for last week's check-in post at some point, in amongst the crazy, but I must have missed it. Anyway, I'm getting back into the cards again after a writing binge, and am now doing The World - the final Major Arcana card. Then, on to the face cards and aces, then finally the 2-10 cards. I might not quite make it with all of them by Aug 4th, but I'll have the 2-10 ones done by the go live.

It's slow going. I think it's finally coming together. I had to scale back as it wasn't coming together as a full team fic. So I stuck with the voices I knew best Cougar and Jensen. Once I did that the flow is moving along better (slowly but faster than scattered scenes).

We has an Aisha. Well, one without any makeup yet. ( Whine/) Daytime temp of 106 degrees F kind of discouraged me from working on that, as it needs spraying outside. Also, Vector Control mosquito spraying outside tonight, so no, not doing it tonight either!
In the other good news, I got help to figure out how to crosspost from Flickr to CW, so we can has pix directly now. These are all taken with my phone, not the bigger camera I'm planning to use for most of the shots.

Also got collected stuff for our cosplay Natasha Romanov, to whom as a convention fan the Losers fans can explain. Just finished making her bracelets last night, the fit is ok but not great. I don't have pix yet. I want to get our Nat dressed in her catsuit and stuff before taking her pix. I'm not sure yet if she has to share a-k*cking boots with Aisha.
Amusingly, the way the two dolls got put back randomly where they sit, these two gals now look like they're in a very busy intense conversation, hands waving and everything. The other amusing thing is the apparent smirk you see in these pix? She did not look like that before I worked on her. Total deadpan solemn expression. And I haven't done anything to modify her head! It's catching a different angle on her head than any I've seen before.
I'm also working on the idea of photographic angles that might make it look more like the movie and the comics iconography--like a silhouette shot as the first time you see Aisha. Discussed the heart-shaped bokeh attempt with a friend who's a camera buff, and he's not sure if the small sensor will allow it to work, I'm not using a giant 50 mm lens and equally large sensor like the folks in the tutorials are. He thinks I could try it by standing a long way away from my subject and using my telephoto with it. That could be interesting!
