Am here. Have been thinking of landscape ideas to go searching for. I know that in Alaska there are images of towns long abandoned after the whale trade died out and have been reclaimed by the snow and ice. So will be looking for pics of that. So it's progressing.

Thank you :) I've gotten remarkably good at taking at least decent photos with my phone camera, despite its limitations.

Let me know if you have some specifics in mind and I can go troll Pinterest with search terms. It's fun and I'll feel like I'm doing something useful.
Also, I happen to know that one of the most respected perennial gardeners in the history of ever got written up maybe 5 years ago in Horticulture magazine for her mad skillz, because she's growing difficult and amazing things, especially considering the climate. (For some things, my brain for trivia is amazing. Others, eh, not so much.)
I think she was near Anchorage, if I recall rightly. SO it's possible to have huge grounds covered in unusual things that you'd never expect to flourish so far north. It looked magical, like something you'd see in Harry Potter. I bring it up because surprising things like this could be part of the reason why people survived.
I know she worked at it really hard, and there was a lot of horse manure involved, including using the heat from composting it.
