Experimentation went well? Except for all of the noises like the goddamn motorcycles, because it was an event weekend, which I completely forgot about.

So I'll have to do another read through in a quieter space and/or figure out this noise reduction thing in Audacity. If I'm lucky, that will happen this weekend. I'm probably not so lucky, because I have to help with a conference this week and then another conference next week plus outreach/training, so I'll sort of be MIA, silently cheering everyone on.

Hey, I'm totally there. It's okay, bb, we've got plenty of time.

There are a couple of tricks for noise reduction that I know. For one, put a windscreen on the mike itself. I find this works best, but if that's not going to work, and if you're desperate, you can put yourself and your whole set up under a thick blanket. Of course, I can't handle that at all because it gets too hot, but apparently it does a great job of getting rid of ambient noise.
