First time participant...what is a Dear Creator Letter? I looked through the FAQ on AO3 and didn't find an answer. tanx lp

A dear creator letter is an entry that you post on your journal (whether Dreamwidth, Livejournal, or Tumblr), where your creator can learn more about your likes and dislikes.

Since this is a gift exchange, we want to make sure that you get what you want. A dear creator letter is especially helpful for an anonymous challenge like this, where we've opened it up to all fanworks.

In your letter, you can list your favorite characters, pairings, kinks and/or tropes, and also give some ideas of what types of fanworks you'd like to receive. You can also give some general prompts to aid creators who might need more direction.

For an example of past letters, you can look at the comments under the !letters tag in the comm. Please keep in mind that in previous years, this used to be a fic only exchange. If you'd like to receive more than fic (e.g., podfic, art, remix, knitting pattern, etc.), then your letter should give some additional options for multimedia fanworks.

I hope this clears things up a bit? If not, please let me know, and thanks so much for your interest in participating.

Hi! I'm also a first-timer and I wondered how to fulfill more than one of my giftee's requests. I've done one already, but it's not fic so I'm not exactly sure how to submit it and the fic I plan to submit.

Thanks so much for the help! FYI, you can't submit two works via the challenge itself, but it seems you can submit additional works by adding it tot he Ante Up 2013 collection, so I'm going to do it that way. Hope it works!

Oh, and I didn't get a notification, so unscreening was a good call!

Hi! This is your other friendly mod. First off, congrats on finishing! :D :D :D

Second, if you're ready to post, I wanted to direct you to the tutorials we've created to help assist you in posting to the AO3.

Just remember that you should post your completed fanwork in Ante Up: The Losers Fanwork Exchange 2013 (and the Ante Up: Losers Scramble 2013 for any extra treats that you've created for your recipient or other participants in the exchange). This ensures that everything remains anonymous and hidden until we do the big reveal in January.

If you have any questions about posting or any difficulties, please feel free to contact either me or kate. Congrats again!

I'm about to post my draft...should I indicate who the recipient will be under "Gift this work to..."?

Question about Scramble

(Anonymous) 2015-01-19 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
So, I read the FAQ, but I still have a question about the Scramble, and how it works.

Do I have to write my scramble specifically to one person and gift it to that person, or can I just combine ideas I've gotten from multiple letters?
